Automotive Supplier
Resolving portfolio complexity strategically — without sacrificing brand equity.
One brand, two entirely different product worlds, two incompatible target groups. Lünstroth develops a brand architecture that enables independence — without throwing away the equity that has been built.

Architecture & Structure
The supplier had expanded its product range over the years: originally specialised in a clearly defined product category, additional product lines were added incrementally that differed fundamentally from the core brand in target group, application area and purchasing decision-maker. Managed under a single brand, the result was a profile that no longer spoke clearly enough to either target group. The core brand lost sharpness; the new product lines were unable to realise their potential.
"A brand that stands for everything stands for nothing."
Opening diagnosis of the project
Lünstroth analysed the portfolio structure across four criteria: target group identity, purchasing decision logic, competitive environment and internal manageability. The finding was unambiguous: a mono-brand was no longer sustainable for this portfolio. Lünstroth developed an architecture model with a clearly positioned core brand and an independent sub-brand for the diverging product lines — with its own name, its own visual identity, but with a defined connection to the parent brand that transfers credibility without costing profile clarity.
Two brand profiles with clear target group relevance instead of one diffuse mixed profile. The core brand regained its sharpness; the sub-brand could be positioned independently and introduced in new market segments. The architecture decision also created the foundation for separate communication and sales strategies for each brand.
